Tania Del Moral (’23) to present exhibition before Congress – Empty Graves, Empty Promises: A Photographic Journey Into Mexico’s Disappearance Crisis and the Role of the U.S
Tania Del Moral (’23), as part of the Latin America Working Group Education Fund (LAWGEF), has curated an exhibition titled Empty Graves, Empty Promises: A Photographic Journey Into Mexico’s Disappearance Crisis and the Role of the U.S. that will be exhibited before Congress from September 23rd – September 25th. The photography exhibition is centered around the tenth anniversary of the disappearance of 43 students in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, and pays tribute to the over 116,000 victims of enforced disappearances in Mexico since 1952. The presentation of the exhibit will feature photographs by Manuel Bayo Gisbert, which capture the stories of families and survivors in Veracrux, Mexico. The presentation of the exhibit will feature testimonies and public discussions to explore the intersections of disappearances, organized crime, and U.S.-Mexico relations.
